Join mezzo-soprano Christina Pezzarossi Ramsey and pianist Armen Guzelimian for an afternoon of song traversing longing, love, and wit across four centuries of vocal repertoire. The program opens with Robert Schumann's ardent Widmung and his beloved cycle Frauenliebe und Leben, tracing a woman's journey through love's full arc. Three exquisite mélodies by Reynaldo Hahn — Chanson d'automne, A Chloris, and L'heure exquise — bring Belle Époque Paris to life with shimmering lyricism.

After intermission, the mood turns playful and picturesque: Rossini's La regata veneziana paints a vivid boat race on the Venetian lagoon, while Paul Bowles' Blue Mountain Ballads and Jake Heggie's tender Paper Wings offer a distinctly American sensibility. The program closes with two irresistible gems from Leonard Bernstein — the sly, cosmopolitan "I Am So Easily Assimilated" from Candide and the comic send-up "100 Easy Ways to Lose a Man" — sending audiences off with a smile.
