As I embark on a new production of Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Santa Barbara, I feel a wave of nostalgia. In October, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase the unforgettable "Habanera" in Opera SLO's rendition of Carmen. Forever grateful to @OperaSantaBarbara for taking a chance on me and casting me as Ino in Semele back in Jan 2022. That production was a dream come true and a pivotal moment in my journey as an artist. ๐Ÿ’•โ  โ  I'm so EXCITED to be returning to this incredible company to perform Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the end of this month with my fabulous husband @cbramsey and bringing back our wonderful director from Semele @saraewidzer! ๐Ÿฅ‚๐ŸŽถโ  โ  Thank you for believing in me and creating a space for singers to grow and shine. I can’t wait to get back on that stage and share this timeless masterpiece with all of you. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
โœจ There’s a line in the operatic repertoire that gives me chills every time I sing it. ๐ŸŽถ It’s not just about the notes; it's the emotion that wraps around you, haunting yet beautiful, elegant yet raw. Must the Winter has the power to transport me and anyone listening into a world of snowy tundras and deep, dark emotions. The text interweaves St. Augustine’s Confessions and text from Proverbs in a beautiful dialogue between faith and wisdom. This excerpt is the entrance of wisdom recitation.
